“Born in the Warburton Ranges in Western Australia, over 400 miles from the community of Kiwirrkurra, where she lived and painted, Doreen Reid Nakamarra was one of Papunya Tula Artists’ most devoted and meticulous artists. Given the rights of her artist husband, Doreen painted the sites of the great ancestral Kana Puta women’s songline that traversed across his Country and their community.
